  Golden Bead Material

The Golden Bead Material, designed by Dr. Montessori, illustrates the decimal system. The numeral cards are printed in different colors to indicate the ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands places. Concepts of squaring and cubing are easily illustrated with the use of this material.

To reach A Child's Garden Montessori from I-95N:
  • Take Exit 90
  • At light at end of ramp, turn left onto Rte 27 North
  • Follow Rte 27 North through Old Mystic. At stop sign, bear right.
  • When road comes to "Y", stay left.
  • At stop sign, turn right onto Rte 184.
  • Travel Rte 184 for approximately 1 mile.
  • Turn left onto Whittaker Drive
  • The school is the first building on the right (28 Whittaker Drive).


    To reach A Child's Garden Montessori from I-95S:
  • Take Exit 90
  • At end of ramp, turn right onto Rte 27 North
  • Follow Rte 27 North through Old Mystic. At stop sign, bear right.
  • When road comes to "Y", stay left.
  • At stop sign, turn right onto Rte 184.
  • Travel Rte 184 for approximately 1 mile.
  • Turn left onto Whittaker Drive
  • The school is the first building on the right (28 Whittaker Drive).
